The Central Coast Mariner's Women travelled to Melborune for this afternoon's match against Melbourne Victory with the home side winning to the score of 2 goals to nil.
Goals in the first half to Victory's Gielnik (10') and Chidiac (45+1') saw the home side with the 2-0 lead at half time and was able to hold on to it to win the match.
Both sides had chances in the second half with Mariner's teenager Tiana Fuller with a excellect chance that just went wide.
The good news for Mariner's fans was that Isobel Gomez came on as a substitute in the 59th minute. This is the first that Gomez has played since suffering an injury in a match also against Victory during Unite Round last November.
On the other side of the ledger, Bianca Galic was sidelined for this match due to sustaining an injury during a training session before the team left for Melbourne.
The Mariner's Women now have a break and next play against Western Sydney Wanderers as part of a double header at Industree Group Stadium in Gosford on Friday, 28th February. Kick-off for the Women is scheduled for 4:50pm.
