Mariner's Women travelled to Perth to take on the Glory Women and are coming home with a much needed 1-0 win.

Going into the match, the Mariners were only one point ahead of their opponents and with a heavy schedule in the coming week will benefit from the win.

The match was evenly contested early with both teams having chances.  Mariners goalkeeper Sarah Langman made some excellent saves to keep our Women in the match.

With the score even at 0-0 at half time, the second half started as the first half finished.  Langman was again called into action to make a finger-tip save.

Scores stayed level until the 85th minute when a defensive mistake by Perth defender Chinnama saw her back-pass go past the Glory goalkeeper.  Mariners forward Jade Pennock was on hand to take possession and score into an open goal.

The win takes the Mariners women back into the top 6 on the ladder with other games still to be played over the weekend.

The Mariners women are next in action on New Years Eve as part of the NYE double header.  Their opponent is Melbourne City with kick-off scheduled for 4:15pm.
