Our Mariner's mens side travelled to Perth for last night's Round 3 fixture, losing by two goals in the west.
The game was a fairly even contest in the first half with both sides having opportunities. Adam Taggart for Perth was proving to be dangerous while at the other end Marco TĂșlio had some opportunites but failed to convert.
The score was nil-all at half time.
The both sides made some changes at half time with the Mariners bringing Alou Kuol, replacing Dylan Wenzel-Halls.
Perth Glory's coach Alan Stajic made two changes with bringing Stefan Colakovski being the most effective.
It only took Perth 7 minutes into the second half for Glory to break the deadlock with Taggart providing an assist for Colakovski to score, beating Mariner's goalkeeper to the bottom left corner of goal.
The Mariner's had a great chance in the 59th minute when Farrell put a ball through to TĂșlio who unfortunately was offside.
Unfortunately, the Mariners were reduced to 10 men in the 77th when Angel Torres has a yellow card upgraded to a straight red for violent conduct after a VAR review looked at an incident behind play.
The Mariners continued to press and in the 82nd minute would have had a goal if not for great save by Glory's goalkeeper Cameron Cook. Mariner's midfielder Theoharous shot from well outside the box that was destined for the top left corner if not for Cook's save.
Glory went two goals ahead in the 3rd minute of extra time when Adam Taggart scored from outside the box.
This places the Mariner's Men in 11th position on the Isuzu Men's A-League ladder after three games.
Their next game is against Brisbane Roar at home on Sunday, 12th November 2023 as part of a double header when the Women's team also play Brisbane. Kick-off on 12th November for the women is 2:15pm while the men's game starts at 5:00pm.
