Our boys remain undefeated after four matches and there is every reason for us to feel great about their progress as we prepare to face Brisbane Roar at home this weekend.

Welcome to our second home match update.

Official Supporters Club progress update:

• We will be taking new financial members at the game on Sunday so look out for us before and after the game to join up. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for under 18s. We're expecting to have a marque outside the stadium in Dane Drive where we can sign you up or answer any questions you have about the OSC.

• We had a great away function at Soccer5s on Saturday night with around 60 people enjoying the F3 Derby, some food and beverages and a kick around with like-minded fans. We hope to build on this success with more interest to come at these functions as the season progresses.

OSC / Mariners Update:

After the first home match of the season we provided feedback to the Mariners about the match day experience and the club has been very co-operative, acting on some of those items already. We followed that up with some more after the second match and current updates in that area are:-

• We're expecting more pre-game activity at this weekend's game

• We're continuing our work with the club around their use of volunteers

• We're pleased we didn't receive any reports of members unable to collect their member packs last game

• The Post Game function was advertised in your club member email and we hope there will also be some social media reminders prior to each game in the future.

• The big screen and announcer countdown for the cannon firing was a great success and we're hoping FOX television will show our iconic weapon on their coverage soon.

• The club has indicated they're working on introductions for our new mascots, known as Admiral Frederick and Captain Yellowbeard, so look out for that coming soon.

• The club has increased the number of "The Loose Cannon" match day papers for distribution and will provide more distribution at the Eastern gate from this home match onwards.

• The club organised for the ground announcer to involve you in naming the team

• We continue to work with the club to make sure they're aware of your thoughts about advertising our home matches.

The OSC committee is working on:-

• Member cards – we hope to distribute these are soon as they are available

• The Inaugural member gift for first year members of the OSC is a key ring with our name and logo. We're awaiting delivery and will advise how we will distribute them as soon as possible.

• Merchandise – you will receive an email this week regarding our Polo Shirt so you can express your interest in having one of your own.

• We are continuing to work on Member Events and the legal aspects of the CCMOSC constitution and will let you know when we have further information on these.

We value and use all of your feedback, positive or negative. Whether it is about the OSC, the match day or anything else about being a Mariners fan, please don't hesitate to email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
