The Central Coast Mariners dominated in last night's encounter with Brisbane Roar at Industree Group Stadium in Gosford, winning 4 goals to 1.

The win made the night special for Danny Vukovic who played his 300th A-League game in front of a crowd of just over 5,500 who braved the rain.

After some early attacking from Brisbane, the Mariners scored first in the 15th minute.  As a result of a shot from Jason Cummings that the Roar goalkeeper could not control, Marco Tulio pounced onto the opportunity scoring into the bottom right-hand corner of the goal.

It only took another two minutes for the Mariners to score again.  This time Josh Nisbet converted after his initial shot was blocked and collected the ball to calmly make it 2-0 to the Mariners.

The Mariners didn't take too long before adding a third in the 30th minute.  A superb cross from Tulio was met by Max Balard whose thumping header hit the cross bar.  Unfortunately for Brisbane and fortunately for the Mariners, the ball hit the back of Roar goalkeeper Holmes and went into the goal.

After resuming play at 3-0 at half-time, the Mariners continued to dominate and were awarded a penalty in the 58th minute when a Brisbane defender was judged to have handled to the ball in the penalty box.  Jason Cummings calmly converted the penalty.

Brisbane were awarded a penalty for a similar situation in the 82nd minute.

It was also pleasing to see Dylan Wenzel-Halls make his Mariners debut.

This win places the Mariners to be in 3rd position on the ladder with 4 games remaining in the regular season.

Next game is against Western United in Ballarat on Friday afternoon (April 7th) with kick-off at 3pm.
