A tough fight tonight in Sydney with the Mariners going down to a determined Wanderers side by the score of two goals to nil.

This is only the second time this season that the Mariners have been held scoreless.  The other game without the Mariners scoring was against Melbourne City earlier in the season.  Ironically, these are the two teams that now sit in the top two positions on the Isuzu Ute A-League ladder.

The Wanderers dominated possession for most of the first half and scored in the 26th minute.  Wanderers forward Borello made a break with only Danny Vukovic to beat.  Danny blocked the shot with his right foot that unfortunately ricocheted off Borello into the goal.

The Mariners came on in the second half a more determined side and momentum appeared to swing our way in the 52nd minute when Wanderers defender Marcelo was shown a straight red card for an ugly challenge on Storm Roux.  Somewhat against the run of play while being a player short, the Wanderers scored in the 60th minute.

The Mariners one player advantage on the field was negated when Beni N'Kololo was shown a straight red after an incident in the Wanderers penalty box.

The next game is on Saturday 11th March against Macarthur Bulls in Mudgee.  Kick-off time is 5pm (AEDT).
